Behind Agora Fruit & Food GmbH are we, the brothers Hakan and Haydar Alkaç – two businessmen with heart, experience, and a clear vision: to redefine freshness, quality, and honesty in the food trade.

Our professional roots lie with ALDI GmbH & Co. KG Essen, where we completed our training as retail merchants in the early 2000s – Haydar in 2000, and Hakan in 2003. Due to our very good performance, we were able to shorten the training and successfully complete it with top grades. Shortly after our training, we took on responsibility as branch managers for high-turnover markets in the Ruhr area.

During this time, we gained valuable experience in the fields of personnel management, merchandise management, sales planning, and material procurement. This intensive period shaped our understanding of efficient processes, quality assurance, and sustainable customer loyalty.

Parallel to our professional activities, we completed further training as a business economist (Betriebswirt) at BCW Essen to deepen our business knowledge and further expand our entrepreneurial expertise.

With this combination of practical experience, commercial know-how, and a passion for high-quality food, we finally founded Agora Fruit & Food GmbH – a family business that stands for freshness, trust, and quality.

Today, we manage our locations in Essen-Frohnhausen (Kölner Straße 75) and Essen-Altendorf (Altendorfer Straße 326) with the same commitment as on the first day: customer-oriented, fair, and with attention to detail.
